The episode starts off with continued arguing between Aviva and Carole. I don’t foresee there ever being a resolution to this argument as both do not want to see each other’s points of view. This is to be expected since
both feel passionately, but what is annoying is Heather’s involvement. It seems like perhaps she hasn’t liked Aviva for a while now and was looking for any opportunity to jump on her. Well success! Aviva is always involved in something, so it didn’t take Heather long. I can appreciate standing up for your friend but this is taking it to another level. She also bickers back and forth with Amanda, who barely says much but it’s enough for Heather to be ready to go to blows. The moral of the story is Aviva will never see eye to eye with Carole or Heather on the subject. Aviva does finds an unlikely ally in Sonja. The two go for laser and facial treatments and seem to be very much on the same page.
Kristen, Carole, Heather, Luann and Sonja all join in on the Coney Island Mermaid Parade fun. Carole is even crowned the queen (despite the fact that the announcer called her Karen). The ladies look fairly ridiculous,
but it looks like good fun.
Aviva decides to go to upstate NY to visit the farm that housed the machine that took her leg so many years ago. She also speaks with Becky, the little girl that lived on the farm. It was during a sleep over that the girls
decided to go into the barn that faithful night to play on the conveyer belt. Aviva turns the machine on and expects to be faced with fears but instead, she feels empowered. She is no longer that scared little girl. It’s a good
opportunity for the audience to relate to Aviva and understand her a bit more.
Next week, more drama in the NYC.
